365 Day Self-Portrait Project 2012 (Day 1)

Why a 365-day self-portrait project?

My start on my 365-day self-portrait project. If you are really not sure what a 365-day self-portrait project is, well it is just that. You take a photograph of yourself for 365 days straight for an entire year. Now it gets a little more complicated than that. We have a few rules to make it a little more difficult. You have to be the one that is in the photograph and you have to be the one that is pressing the shutter button. You can use a wireless remote or use your timer so you have time to get into the shot. Before even thinking about doing this project, I thought to myself, should I even attempt this type of project? I don’t like being in front of the camera, this is why I am a photographer right? lol…

I have watched a ton of photographers do these types of projects and it’s amazing to me how much better a photographer they have become after doing this for only one year. So my plan is to do this for an entire year and see how much better I will become if, at all, we will see. If you want to see what you become then you too should start a 365-day self-portrait project and post your photo on your website, Flickr, Facebook, or Instagram account. If you want to follow me, I will post a photo on this blog every day for an entire year. If you decide to do one yourself, please let me know and tell me where you are uploading your images.

Here is my first photo of the project, thanks for checking out my blog and I will see you tomorrow.
